Xinjiang cotton and Egyptian cotton

Xinjiang cotton and Egyptian cotton

Xijiang Cotton

Xinjiang cotton is mainly divided into fine staple cotton and long staple cotton, the difference between them is fineness and length; The length and fineness of long staple cotton must be better than that of fine staple cotton. Due to the weather and the concentration of production areas, Xinjiang cotton has the best color, length, foreign fiber and strength compared with other cotton production areas in China.

Therefore, the fabric woven with Xinjiang cotton yarn has good moisture absorption and permeability, good gloss, higher strength, and less yarn defects, which is also the representative of the quality of domestic pure cotton fabric at present; At the same time, the cotton quilt made of Xinjiang cotton has good fiber bulkiness, so the quilt has good warmth retention.

In Xinjiang, the unique natural conditions, alkaline soil, sufficient sunlight and long growth time make Xinjiang cotton more prominent. Xinjiang cotton is soft, comfortable to handle, good in water absorption, and its quality is far superior to other cotton.

Xinjiang cotton is produced in the south and north of Xinjiang. Aksu is the main production area and also the production base of high-quality cotton. At present, it has become a cotton trading center and a gathering place of light textile industry in Xinjiang. Xinjiang cotton is the most promising new cotton area with white color and strong tension. Xinjiang is rich in water and soil resources, arid and rainless. It is the main cotton producing area in Xinjiang, accounting for 80% of the cotton production in Xinjiang, and is the production base of long staple cotton. It has sufficient lighting conditions, sufficient water source conditions, and sufficient water source for cotton irrigation after snow melting.

What is long staple cotton? What’s the difference between it and ordinary cotton? Long staple cotton refers to cotton whose fiber length is more than 33mm compared with fine staple cotton. Long staple cotton, also known as sea island cotton, is a kind of cultivated cotton. Long staple cotton has a long growth cycle and requires a lot of heat. The growth period of long staple cotton is generally 10-15 days longer than that of upland cotton.

Egyptian Cotton

Egyptian cotton is also divided into fine staple cotton and long staple cotton. Generally, we talk about long staple cotton. Egyptian cotton is divided into many production areas, among which the long staple cotton in Jiza 45 production area has the best quality and very little output. The fiber length, fineness and maturity of Egyptian long staple cotton are better than Xinjiang cotton.

Egyptian long staple cotton is generally used to produce high-grade fabrics. It mainly spins more than 80 pieces of fabrics. The fabrics it weaves have silk like luster. Because of its long fiber and good cohesion, its strength is also very good, and its moisture regain is high, so its dyeing performance is also wrong. Generally, the price is about 1000-2000.

Egyptian cotton is a symbol of the highest quality in the cotton industry. It, together with WISIC cotton in West India and SUVIN cotton in India, can be called the most excellent cotton variety in the world. WISIC cotton in West India and SUVIN cotton in India are absolutely rare at present, accounting for 0.00004% of the world’s cotton output. Their fabrics are all royal tribute grades, which are exorbitant in price and are not used in bedding at present. The output of Egyptian cotton is relatively higher, and its fabric quality has no significant difference compared with the above two kinds of cotton. At present, the highest quality bedding on the market is almost Egyptian cotton.

Ordinary cotton is picked by machines. Later, chemical reagents are used for bleaching. The strength of cotton will become weak, and the internal structure will be damaged, so that it will become harder and harder after washing, and the glossiness will be poor.

Egyptian cotton is all picked and combed by hand, so as to visually distinguish the quality of cotton, avoid mechanical cutting damage, and get thin and long cotton fibers. Good cleanliness, no pollution, no chemical reagents added, no harmful substances, no damage to the cotton structure, no hardening and softness after repeated washing.

The biggest advantage of Egyptian cotton is its fine fiber and high strength. Therefore, Egyptian cotton can spin more fibers into yarns of the same count than ordinary cotton. The yarn has high strength, good resilience and stronger toughness.

It is as smooth as silk, with good uniformity and high strength, so the yarn woven from Egyptian cotton is very fine. Basically, the yarn can be directly used without doubling. After mercerization, the fabric is as smooth as silk.

The growth cycle of Egyptian cotton is 10-15 days longer than that of ordinary cotton, with long sunshine time, high maturity, long lint, good handle and far superior quality to ordinary cotton.
