The difference between flannel and coral velvet

The difference between flannel and coral velvet

1. Flannel

Flannel is a kind of woven product, which refers to the woolen wool (cotton) fabric with sandwich pattern woven from mixed color woolen (cotton) yarn. It has the characteristics of bright luster, soft texture, good heat preservation, etc., but wool flannel fabric is easy to generate static electricity, and friction will make the surface fluff fall off during long wearing or use. The biggest difference between flannel and coral wool is that the former has better glossiness, softer handle, better air permeability, moisture permeability, water absorption and other properties. Flannel is generally made of cotton or wool. Blending wool with cashmere, mulberry silk and Lyocell fiber can improve the itch of the fabric, give play to the performance advantages of the blended fiber, and make it more comfortable to wear. At present, there are also flannel like fabrics woven from polyester, which have similar functions and characteristics with French velvet, mainly used for making blankets, pajamas, bathrobes and other products.

2. Coral Velvet

Coral fiber density is high, so it is named for its coral like body. Small fiber fineness, good softness and moisture permeability; Weak surface reflection, elegant and soft color; The surface of the fabric is smooth, the texture is even, and the fabric is delicate, soft and elastic, warm and wearable. However, it is easy to generate static electricity, accumulate dust and produce itching. Some coral velvet fabrics will be treated with metal fibers or anti-static finishing agents to reduce static electricity. Coral velvet fabric will also show hair loss. It is recommended to wash it before use. It is not recommended for people with skin allergy or asthma history. Coral velvet can be made of pure chemical fiber or chemical fiber mixed with plant fiber and animal fiber. For example, the coral velvet produced by blending Shengma fiber, acrylic fiber and polyester fiber has the characteristics of good moisture absorption, good drapability, bright color, etc. It is commonly used in sleeping robes, baby products, children’s clothing, clothing lining, shoes and hats, toys, home accessories, etc.

3. The difference between Flannel and Coral Velvet

In terms of fabric characteristics and thermal insulation effect, both flannel and coral velvet have comfortable wearing feeling and good thermal insulation effect. However, from the perspective of manufacturing process, the two fabrics are completely different. The woven textiles also have differences after careful comparison. What are these differences?

1. Before weaving, flannel fabric is made by blending and weaving wool with primary color wool after dyeing. Twill weaving and plain weaving techniques are adopted. At the same time, flannel fabric is processed by shrinking and napping. The woven fabric is soft and tight.

The fabric of coral velvet is made of polyester fiber. The weaving process has mainly gone through heating, deformation, cooling, shaping, etc. The weaving process is also being improved and upgraded year by year. New processes are constantly added to make the fabric have a richer sense of hierarchy and rich colors.

2. From the selection of raw materials, it can be seen that the wool raw material used for flannel is very different from the polyester fiber used for coral wool. From the finished products, it can be found that the flannel fabric is more thick, the density of wool is very tight, and the density of coral wool is relatively sparse. Because of the raw materials, the feel of wool is slightly different, the feel of flannel is more delicate and soft, and the thickness and warmth retention of fabric are also different, The flannel made of wool is thicker and warmer.

From the choice of production process and raw materials, we can clearly understand the difference between flannel and coral wool? By comparing the hand feeling and warmth keeping effect of the fabric, flannel made of wool is better. Therefore, the difference between the two fabrics lies in the cost of the fabric, the warmth keeping effect, the hand feeling, the density of the fabric fluff, and whether the fleece falls
