Egyptian
It is a kind of long-staple cotton produced in Egypt, which is better than Xinjiang cotton in quality, especially in strength and fineness. Generally, cotton cloth with more than 150 pieces must be added with Egyptian cotton, otherwise the cloth is easy to break.
Of course, the price of Egyptian cotton is also much more expensive, a lot of cotton cloth marked with Egyptian cotton on the market are not really Egyptian cotton, take four pieces for example, the price of 5% Egyptian cotton is about 500, and the price of 100% Egyptian cotton four pieces is more than 2000 yuan.
Long staple cotton in addition to Xinjiang cotton and Egyptian cotton, there are the United States PIMA cotton, India cotton, etc.
High count cotton yarn, combed cotton yarn
High count yarn
It is defined by the thickness of cotton yarn. The thinner the textile yarn, the higher the count, the thinner the fabric, the finer and softer the feel, and the better the gloss. For cotton cloth, more than 40 can be called high count cotton, common 60, 80, more than 100 is relatively rare.
Combed
It refers to the removal of short cotton fibers and impurities in the spinning process. Compared with ordinary cotton, combed cotton is smoother, has better wear resistance and strength, and is not easy to pilling. Combed cotton is used to make worsted clothing.
High count and combing are generally corresponding, high count cotton is often combed cotton, combed cotton also often is finer high count cotton. Both are mostly used in the production of close-fitting clothing, bed products and other fabrics with higher finish requirements.
Mercerized cotton yarn
It refers to the fabric of cotton yarn or cotton cloth after the mercerization process in alkali. There are also cotton yarn spun into cotton cloth after the mercerization, and then undergo the mercerization process again, called double mercerized cotton.
Compared with cotton without mercerization, mercerized cotton feels softer, has better color and gloss, and has increased drape, wrinkle resistance, strength and color fastness. The fabric is stiff and not easy to pilling.
Mercerized cotton is generally made of high count cotton or high count long staple cotton

Ice silk cotton yarn
Generally refers to the mercerized cotton, cotton linter with chemical after dissolved into solution by jet made of synthetic fiber, is a kind of regenerated cellulose fiber plants, also called viscose fiber, tencel, modal, and acetate fabric varieties belong to the same class, but the quality not as good as tencel, modal, in artificial regenerated fiber belongs to one of the poor.
Although ice silk cotton also has the same moisture absorption as cotton, but the strength is relatively low, and it is easy to become hard and brittle after washing, and it is not as good as natural cotton for human health. The biggest advantage of ice silk is that the upper body is very cool, so it is especially suitable for summer clothing.
Finally, we will talk about the familiar cotton and related cotton and polyester cotton. “All Cotton” simply means a fabric made of 100% natural cotton fibers.
As long as the cotton fiber content of 75 percent or more can be called pure cotton fabric. Poly-cotton refers to the blended fabric of polyester and cotton. The polyester content greater than the cotton content is called poly-cotton fabric, also known as TC cloth; the cotton content greater than the polyester content is called cotton-polyester fabric, also known as CVC cloth.
It can be seen that cotton cloth also has many different categories and names, corresponding to different qualities and performance. Long staple cotton, high count cotton, mercerized cotton are relatively high quality cotton, if it is autumn and winter coat fabric, do not need to pursue these fabrics too much, sometimes wrinkle resistance and wear resistance better cotton polyester blended cloth is more suitable.
But if you buy underwear or bedding and other direct contact with the skin clothing, try to choose high-quality cotton fabrics, such as high count, high density long staple cotton.
